Grant Exploration, Writing and Management Services

Grants are a tricky animal. Knowing where to find grant money, what to say to get the grant awarded and then how to administer the grant funds through the labyrinth of hoops and hurdles requires patience and expertise. Museumcroft offers a full array of grant exploration, writing and management services. All of our grant writing experts have a minimum of five years experience in writing grants for the non-profit sector. Historic preservation, public accessibility, educational programming, collections assessment and storage, object conservation, and green initiatives are just a few of our areas of experience. Every grant is a custom application, so call us for a free consultation and quotation of services.

Grants Guidance and Review Program

In listening to our clients’ requests for services over the years, there is without question one need that consistently rises to the surface with regard to small museums; funding. Museumcroft has made this a priority by creating the Grants Guidance and Review Program to maximize your ability to win grant monies.

For $650, the Grants Guidance and Review Package entitles a client to:

  • One two-hour site visit anywhere in your state for a Museumcroft grants specialist to meet with you to zero in on candidates for a grant prospect search.
  • 14 hours of prospect research time.
  • A written report outlining recommendations for grant prospects including grant application materials.
  • 4 hours to review one grant application prior to submission. A museum grant writing expert will critique the grant application and provide written recommendations for improvement. Additional grant reviews may be purchased on an as needed basis.

The BIG advantages:

  1. Low costs. Because your organization is still responsible for writing the grant application(s), no consultant time is spent for writing or rewriting--this is usually the most time consuming aspect of the application process. Grant writers average 40 hours per grant application when an application is completed from start to finish, and a standard fee is typically around $1,200 per grant application, but you will not pay more than $650.
  2. Multiple prospects. Your Museumcroft Associate will provide you with a list of solid grant prospects tailored to your organization as well as a recommendation of where to begin. Thus, you will have many options of where to look for grant money for several months, if not years, into the future.
  3. Fixed costs. There will be no surprises, such as unexpected consultant hours. The $650 fee is a fixed amount for this service, and it may well be the best money your organization has ever spent when you consider the possible returns.
  4. No additional consultant travel or per diem costs.
  5. Professional review. Review of your first grant application gives you the grant writing expertise of a trained professional without actually having the grant writer take the time to write the complete application. It's much more efficient for the grant specialist to edit an existing application than to generate one from scratch. Plus, there's the added benefit that you will learn the skills to become an effective grant writer yourself.
  6. Your organization ends up with its best possible chance for obtaining grant monies.

If there's a project such as artifact storage, exhibit design, administrative organization, collections management, volunteer recruitment, or educational programming that's been on hold until the money was in hand, wait no further. Museumcroft will provide you with a free quote for your project, and now, we'll even help you find grant money to pay for it. To find out how to get started with the Grants Guidance and Review Program, simply call 574-265-3664 and ask for Museumcroft owner, Bill Firstenberger.
